Originally from Detroit, Dr. Wayne Yang, of Suburban Surgical Associates/Suburban Metabolic Institute in Berwyn, Illinois, earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan and his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine. Dr. Yang completed his general surgery residency at the Beaumont Health System in Royal Oak, Michigan, before receiving a fellowship in laparoscopic, bariatric, and advanced gastrointestinal surgery at the Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. His clinical focus is bariatric surgery, as well as a full range of general surgical procedures, for which he is board-certified.

Dr. Yang believes there’s no one-size-fits-all when it comes to health care, so he offers a wide range of up-to-date treatment solutions to his patients. His professional mission is to provide safe, high-quality, individualized care, and he takes the time to listen to you, to ensure positive outcomes.

Away from the Suburban Surgical Associates/Suburban Metabolic Institute, Dr. Yang enjoys spending time with his family, watching “binge-worthy” Netflix series, and holding out eternal hope for a Detroit Lions Super Bowl in his lifetime.
